WebShip, Optums web-enabled shipping tool, provides a single point from which to manage all aspects of the shipping process for small parcel (UPS, FedEx, etc.) and LTL carriers (Yellow Freight, Ryder, etc.). WebShip generates shipment documentation and transmits shipment detail files to your carriers via the web.
It manages consolidation, shops rates and selects carriers, as well as notifies customers of their expected shipments. WebShip eliminates the traditional Manifest Step in the warehouse process. During the fulfillment process of picking and packing an order, WebShip is called behind the scenes and automatically reads the package weight from a scale, selects a carrier, generates a tracking number, calculates freight cost, and prints carrier compliant documents.
