|
Savi SmartChain is the most complete and highly utilized Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC)/RFID network platform available today. SmartChain addresses what is sometimes referred to as the middleware portion of the RFID solution, yet its unique design, network deployment, and information management capabilities provide far more than mere middleware ability.
Supply chains by definition are a series of activities across multiple locations that connect business partners and processes to deliver goods from one point to another. In order to enable real-time visibility and management of the supply chain, the physical movement of goods needs to be linked with the information about supply chain activities and the status and location of shipments.
To make this link, there must be an information network that can flexibly be deployed across the supply chain, integrate and leverage AIDC technologies to capture data in real-time as physical events occur, and then share that information to appropriate parties.
