ASSIST4 Freight
Basic cargo data and forwarder quotes represent the basis of the ASSIST4 Freight system. ASSIST4 Freight offers a multitude of possibilities for drawing up quotes through a variety of cost components that can be combined in a number of ways.

When calculating freight costs, the freight module will determine possible transport chains, calculate quotes on the basis of total freight costs (as well as the cost for partial legs) and offer these the optimum selection of freight forwarders. Based on pre-defined rules, freight forwarders can even be determined automatically.
Fast answers to questions such as what is the cost for the transport of 2.5t from London to Warsaw? can easily be found. ASSIST4 Freight offers the functionality of a freight calculator which evaluates freight costs in the same way as described above. The freight calculator is also available as a WEB application and can thus be used from all workstations within a company.

For invoice verification, transports are summarised per forwarder and the ASSIST4 calculation is compared with the invoice issued by the freight forwarder. It is, however, more efficient to reverse transport invoicing and introduce the so-called self-billing procedure. With ASSIST4 Freight, it is also possible to re-allocate freight costs to cost centres and to transfer this information to a central accounting system.

What would happen if…? Is the new quote really cheaper? This is often difficult to judge. Except when you have a suitable tool available. By means of the simulation functionality, ASSIST4 facilitates the decision-making process considerably. All invoices are stored in the statistic data pool for evaluation in freight statistics with the help of Excel or Crystal Reports. All documents and data streams are assigned suitable key words (search criteria), e.g. credit note data, and placed into the optical archive.
